The design is inspired by Junji Ito’s masterpiece “Tomie: The Little Finger Chapter,” vividly depicting the scene in the cave where the three sisters gradually transform into Tomie and prepare to leave the cave.
The design intent is to reveal Tomie’s dual image from multiple perspectives—possessing both stunning feminine charm and a sickly demeanor.
The scene is surrounded by meticulously sculpted rocks, forming a semi-open space. The rock textures subtly outline the shape of a skull, contrasting with Tomie’s beautiful body. Underwater lights shine upwards, casting a deep blue glow, further enhancing the atmosphere.
Through meticulously crafted figures, a design that partially immerses the sculpture in transparent material, and the arrangement of lighting effects, the statue recreates classic scenes from Junji Ito’s works.
